2. Slide back fences off table. For shipping purposes, rear fence lock screws are stored in the top channels of each back fence. Simply loosen each thumb-screw and slide out end opening in channel. Next, remove nut and position over hole in the wall of back fence. Install spring over thumb-screw and insert through hole and thread into nut. Slide back fences into desired position and tighten thumb-screws to lock in place.
1. Install optional leg end assemblies first (do not unfold legs until completely installed). Attach each center plate using 4 each #10 sheet metal screws. Attach leg clamps over legs as shown above using 4 each #10 sheet metal screws. Unfold each leg and stand table in the upright position. Click here if using a UniStand™.
4. Material butt stops are positional on the back fences and the extensions (shown above). To use, loosen the wing nut and place butt stop at desired position. Tighten wing nut and check for proper position. Periodically check measurement to ensure butt stop is still in desired position.
3. Attach saw track boom assembly to table by aligning the pivot block located on the underside, with the pivot stud located in the center of the table main deck. Once seated, turn knurled knob clockwise to tighten in place. As shown above, remove cross-bars from each end of boom to expose adjustment nuts. On both ends, loosen nuts 1 and 4. Next, back off nuts 2 and 3 toward the center of boom. Place your saw shoe onto vinyls keeping the saw blade in the center of the recessed saw blade track. Position both tracks against saw shoe and tighten all nuts. Extend saw along boom making sure saw blade stays in center of blade track. Adjust as needed.
6. For optimal performance, the back fences provide additional support for your saw when positioned under the saw tracks. If you have lowered the saw tracks, notch out each back fence as shown above. Once you complete the setup and are ready to make cuts, position the saw tracks at the desired angle and lock in place. Next, loosen each back fence and slide to saw tracks until notch is seated. Loosen back fences before repositioning saw track assembly.
5. The Trim-A-Table was designed to fit 95% of the saws presently on the market, but in the rare event your saw will not lower into the tracks sufficiently, (i.e., motor housing strikes saw tracks), the following provision enables you to shim the track up or down in 1/4" increments. Likewise, if you wish to use a large diameter saw, you can simply add more shims on top of P/N 7033 and increase screw length (see Figure 3).
NOTE: if the tracks are lowered, it may also be necessary to modify the rear fence (see step 6 ).
7. Memory stops are provided for use when cutting back and forth between angles. To use, lock boom in place and slide stop against deck. Tighten thumb-screw (see additional notes below).
Additional Setup/Operation Notes
Place butt stop on rear fence to assist you in multiple cuts. When making a 90 degree cut, lock boom at 90 degrees, (i.e. align indicator at 90 degrees on the protractor). Now slide both table tops closed against boom and lock in position. You can now measure and cut in one operation. For longer pieces simply slide out the exten-sions and lock them in place so that the tape reads continuously. On occasion, when it is desired to cut extremely wide material, the rear fences may be removed, increasing your width capacity - a unique feature of your new Trim-A-Table. To cut angles, unlock and extend table tops outwardly. Next unlock boom and turn to angle de-sired and lock in position. Table tops should not be extended more than necessary. Once an angle is set, the memory stop may be slid snugly against the main deck and locked securely. By using the memory stops in this manner, you can now turn the boom to cut any other angle. To return to your original angle position, simply turn the boom until the memory stop strikes the table. If the desired angle is unknown, it will be necessary to prepare an angle template. The saw boom can now be aligned using this template as a guide. When carrying or transport-ing your Trim-A-Table, loosen boom locking knob 1/2 turn and lift off at main deck. Your Trim-A-Table is now very portable. To maintain accurate alignment of your boom assembly, be careful not to mishandle or stack objects on top of it. Periodically, check the alignment of your saw tracks and check all nuts and screws for correct tension.
